How did I ever get so lucky?

So Scott leaves for work really early - when we are all still asleep. Within just moments of me waking up I began finding little notes like these all over the house, expressing his love for me.

I just love that man. What a treasure! I think I will be keeping him forever.

Merry Christmas

Provo Tabernacle was destroyed by fire this last Saturday. Breaks my heart. This painting of the Second Coming was recovered - all burned, except for the exact outline of Christ. What a glorious reminder to keep Christ the center of our lives, especially this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas!

Conversation

The boys and I went to the cemetery yesterday. This is their conversation on our way back.

Benjamin: "Baby Chloe died."
Andrew: "No, she's alive."
Benjamin: "No, her spirit is alive, but her body died. But you don't have to worry. Her spirit can talk down to us. One day her body will be alive too."
Andrew: "Oh, ok."

Amazing. I didn't know a 4-year-old can have such an understanding. Oh, how grateful I am for my little angels...on both sides of the veil.

Chloe Renee Hardy

Last night marked two weeks since we lost our baby girl. On Tuesday, November 30th, the night before I was supposed to be induced, I realized that I haven't felt the baby move since the night before. I was hoping that she was just sleeping or that I was busy getting things done before her arrival that I just hadn't noticed it. I was just at the Doctor's on Monday and she was perfectly fine. Something felt terribly wrong, through. So I called the doctor and he had me go to the hospital. When we arrived, they were unable to find her heartbeat and an ultrasound revealed that our baby's heart had in fact stopped beating. I delivered her that night and she had the umbilical cord wrapped tightly around her neck. She was absolutely perfect and beautiful. We miss her more than words can ever describe. We are so grateful for the Gospel and our Father's plan of happiness. We know that we haven't really lost our little girl. She'll be ours forever. I can't wait for the day to see my perfect little angel again. Thank you for all your prayers, phone calls, letters, and gifts. We've been amazed at how blessed we are with the most wonderful family and friends in the world. We feel your love and prayers and it has given us great comfort and strength. We love you all.

Halloween 2010

I really missed Vegas this Halloween. It's always the most beautiful weather there. It rained and it was cold here in Utah. I made Scott take the kids trick-o-treating. They made it down the street and back. The kids were wearing rain coats over their costumes. But they had fun and I guess that's all that matters.

We did carve some pumpkins that night. Benjamin really enjoyed gutting them and getting his hands in all the messy pumpkin goodness.
The boys got to go to a couple parties. I wish I would have taken more pictures. All those kids in their costumes were so darn cute.Benjamin was a spider this year. Same costume I made 2 years ago. It still fit and he was more than willing to wear it. Whew. Only one costume to make this year. I think he looked pretty cute. Although, he already informed me he wants to be something scary next year, not cute. He got a lot of "oh, you look so cute" remarks. He's done with cute :o).

Andrew was Prince Charming. He has a little friend who was Cinderella. They were absolutely stunning together.

There they are. They couldn't stay away from each other and held hands every chance they got.

So there you go. Hope everybody had a fun and spooky Halloween.

Latest news...

My little man, Andrew, is all potty trained! No more diapers! Hip, hip, hurray! Well, at least for a few weeks until baby C is born. I'll take these few weeks, though. Life is good!

Labor Day

We drove down to Gunlock for Labor Day weekend. We spent most of the time canning. I should have taken a picture of all the goodness we canned. It was so much fun… and so much work! But we did get some play time in as well.
Boys rode motorcycles.

Scott's parents brought the boat down, so we took it out on Gunlock Reservoir.

Scott putting on a show on his slalom ski! Way to go, Scott. You never fail to impress.
Some good old slip and slide.
