Baby it's cold outside

Brrr! It's been such a cold winter so far. Last winter was so mild and warm so I guess it was to be expected for this year to be cold. And it is COLD! We've had the biggest storm I've ever seen. It's snowed and snowed and we shoveled and shoveled until we had mountains of snow big enough to build slides. Schools even got canceled, in Utah, which is no stranger to snow storms. But we didn't shed any tears over it. Lots of layers, hot coco, shovels, and some sleds is all you need to have endless hours of fun. It looked magical outside! And somehow snow makes for such pretty pictures. Thank you to our neighbor, Jessi, for snapping some for us!

That's our Christmas tree in the picture. Scott just stuck it in the snow bank. It totally looks like it belongs there.

Christmas jammies

The kids get to open one gift on Christmas Eve, which is always a new pair of jammies and a new book to read that night. So here is my little Santa and his two elves. They kids were so funny and so excited about their jammies. Benjamin kept doing a little elf dance that was hilarious!

Oh Christmas Tree



I know this is way late, but oh well. This is for my journaling sake.

 

We decided to branch out from our usual tree lot Christmas tree and go find and cut down our own. It was quite fun. We loved looking for our “perfect“ tree. The boys loved cutting it down. And I loved how fresh it was and it stayed fresh the whole time. Usually by the time it’s Christmas, our tree is all dried up and shedding its needles, and I can’t wait to get it out of my house. Not this year! This tree held up so nicely and I was actually really sad taking it down. I think this will become our new Christmas tradition.
